Yesterday, day three of HxGN LIVE, was perhaps the busiest of this year’s conference. The learning continued as sessions were packed with attendees seeking Hexagon’s answers to industry questions. The day began with the energetic PP&M keynote “Exploiting Innovative Technologies to Improve Operations and Maintenance Effectiveness” presented by Brad Broughton and Adrian Park. Brad and Adrian demonstrated how industrial facilities can use technologies from Intergraph and the Hexagon family to radically improve efficiency and reduce risk for daily work processes. They introduced leading-edge technologies such as visualisation, augmented reality and the cloud to illustrate how Intergraph’s solutions can transform the way industrial facilities are operated and maintained.
Attendees left the session inspired and excited to implement new technologies into their work processes.
This was just one of eight track keynotes made available at this year’s conference. It was, in fact, the seventh keynote. Remaining is one keynote from Intergraph PP&M, “Digital Projects and Digital Plants – A Major Change for the Better with Saipem and Eskom,” also presented by Adrian Park along with Luca Ferrario from Saipem S.p.A. and Grace Olukune from Eskom. This keynote will explore the powerful reality of digital projects, digital plants and how becoming a digital contractor can improve operations.
The evening ended at Hakkasan with a primetime networking event “All that Glitters.” With a black carpet entrance and gold confetti sprinkled about, the event was a perfect ode to Hollywood glamour, stardom and celebration. Everyone looked festive in gold boas and top hats and the club’s lighting and music were a great backdrop to this year’s final networking bash. Attendees experienced the many levels the venue offered and engaged in conversations while eating, drinking and networking.
The great thing about HxGN LIVE, I’ve found, is that no matter what I think I may have missed, I have an opportunity to catch up on it all. In addition to HxGN TV and the mobile app, there’s the Hexagon Thought Leader program, which presents viewpoints, feedback and recaps from industry professionals and conference attendees just like me. When the conference is over, I will be able to check out their guest blogs, podcasts and social media posts to see what their take was on HxGN LIVE 2015.
It has certainly been a whirlwind learning experience here in Las Vegas this week, and such an amazing conference. As it draws to a close, I can’t help but ready myself for next year’s HxGN LIVE. Until then, I will enjoy the final day left and all that it has to offer.
