Celebrating Hexagon Customers Who Shape Smart Change

Every year at HxGN LIVE, we celebrate innovation in all its forms. We explore groundbreaking new technologies in The Zone, we invite thought leaders to inspire us in their keynotes, and we recognise those amongst us who are putting smart change into practice – Hexagon’s Shaping Smart Change Programme Honourees.

The 2018 Shaping Smart Change Honourees have been recognised by their peers and the industry for achieving significant milestones in the major markets that Hexagon serves. This year’s awardees hail from Canada and the US, Asia and Latin America, and from varied industries including manufacturing, emergency response, transportation, and defence.

I personally have been inspired by the diversity represented by this year’s award recipients. Suzano Pulp and Paper in Brazil is a company that is nearly 100 years old, yet still shaking up agriculture through resource and machine optimisation that allows them to reduce waste and grow more sustainably. Airstream continues to remake its venerated brand for a new generation of travelers through continuous improvements in quality processes.

Hexagon’s long-term partner, Toyo Japan, is making huge strides in construction using Intergraph Smart® Cloud to keep their multibillion dollar projects in motion. Another innovator in the construction sector is York University in Toronto, Canada, where they are using construction visualisation and modelling technologies to lead the way in sustainable construction for higher education.

Honourees Amtrak and Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone are both working to improve public safety on our transit systems and for private citizens through better situational awareness, streamlined dispatch, and efficient communications. Special Operations Solutions (SOS) helps manage firefighting operations in real-time onboard aircraft and at ground stations, providing mission-critical, actionable information that saves lives. And at NIAR, at Wichita State University here in the US, researchers and students are developing next-gen technologies for aerospace engineering.

Please join me in celebrating all of this year’s Shaping Smart Change Honourees for their distinctive contributions and willingness to lead us all boldly into the future through their innovative thinking and actions. Our congratulations go out to:

  • Airstream
  • Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone
  • York University
  • National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR)
  • Suzano Papel e Celulose
  • Amtrak
  • Special Operations Solutions (SOS)
