If you’re planning to attend HxGN LIVE, or even if you’re just thinking about it, I’d be willing to bet that you’re interested in hearing about new technology that can support your business. If I’m right, I’d double down that in your search for the latest and greatest tech, you’ve heard about a solution that is “the next iPhone” or “the Uber of ‘X’.”
We can all have a laugh at the overuse of some of these comparisons, but people use familiar ideas and phrases for a reason. In the case of advanced technologies, there are very real applications for all of us as we try to simplify our lives and make our work more efficient. But we need a connection, an entry point, to help us understand how tech will solve our specific problems.
With this in mind, I’m going use some familiar advertising tag lines and concepts to introduce you to five of Hexagon’s Tech Highlights that will be featured at HxGN LIVE 2019. While these introductions may be familiar, each solution brings something new or unique to the ecosystem it supports.
- “Better, Cheaper, Faster.”
Who says you can’t have it all? BricsCAD is the modern-day CAD platform. A modern, but familiar interface that’s simple and customizable to your needs— while also offering sophisticated capabilities to advance the future of 2D drafting, 3D modeling, mechanical design and BIM. To sweeten the deal, it’s faster than competitors and offers affordable pricing options.
2.“Do more with less.”
With the latest construction layout tool innovation, it’s possible to do more work, faster and with just one person. Designed for users moving for the first time from conventional manual layout methods to automated workflows, The Leica iCON iCT30 is an affordable entry-level tool for digital and automated construction layout technology. What’s more, it’s suitable for one-person operation, making this transition both easier and more efficient.
When it comes to safety of people and assets in high-risk areas, it’s important to think safety first. The IDS GeoRadar RockSpot not only can consistently monitor an entire mine wall or natural slope at high resolution with a single radar unit. Its alerts also can be customised sector by sector using advanced algorithms that distinguish rock movements from other moving objects, such as haul trucks, animals and people, redefining safety across different environments.
4.“Break the mold.”
The Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 introduces a new concept in metrology-grade laser trackers, supporting the smart factory. Launched in March 2019, it offers targetless 3D scanning directly from the laser tracker for the first time. Objects that previously required significant time investments to digitise, or which were even beyond the realistic possibility of efficient measurement, can be quickly brought into the world of 3D analysis by a single operator.
5. “Lighten your load.”
When it comes to air traffic, controllers can’t afford to be grounded by heavy datasets. LuciadRIA decodes and visualizes airspace data through a lightweight browser application to make this information accessible in a way that it has never been before.
In the end, I’m a firm believer that the truth speaks for itself. So don’t just take my word for it. Join us at HxGN LIVE 2019 to experience these new technologies in person!
