Five featured technologies you don’t want to miss at HxGN LIVE!

HxGN LIVE is around the corner and I’m really looking forward to all it has to offer. Among other things, I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, but most of all, I’m excited about experiencing first-hand Hexagon’s newest technologies.

This, to me, is the most exhilarating aspect of the conference and I can’t wait to share how you can join me in experiencing the same at the conference!

When you are onsite, be on the lookout for the ‘Featured Technology’ lightbulb icon everywhere – within the mobile app, agendas, The Zone and more!

Here’s what you may experience by visiting featured technologies found within The Zone:

  1. Self-Learning Positioning Technology with Powerful Accuracy

The growing number of signals from an ever-increasing satellite constellation, challenging environments and highest standards in positioning excellence requires that technology be smarter than ever before.  Featured in the Geosystems Track, Leica Viva GS16 is just that. It’s a powerful, self-learning GNSS smart antenna that provides uninterrupted, accurate positioning even when your local correction service is unavailable due to obstructions or lack of cellular coverage.  So make sure to ‘self-learn’ all about it!

  1. Improving Quality Right from the Palm of Your Hand

If you are looking for an easy-to-use, handheld laser scanner to add 3D digitisation to your quality management toolset of your shop-floor, then look no further. Showcased in the Manufacturing Intelligence Track, the Leica Absolute Scanner LAS-20-8 is an affordable, lightweight and user-friendly way to complete large-volume, manual, laser scanning and collection point-cloud data.  Point, click and get on ‘cloud nine’!

  1. Creating and Managing Engineering Instrumentation Data

One single engineering environment to create and manage plant engineering instrumentation data – consistently across required deliverables – is key for facilities to increase productivity and lower risks on project execution.  SmartPlant® Instrumentation 2016 from the Process, Power & Marine Track does just that. The latest version includes significant enhancements for improved UX, including productivity, integration, and the ability to deliver high-quality design, data, and deliverables. So plant yourself close to it, learn and become more productive!

  1. Identifying Incident “Hot Spots” and Addressing Them

Imagine if there was ’live map’ where you could visualise patterns of incident data – like crimes, power outages or traffic accidents –  in a manner that helps you locate and address those? Well, there is. Brought to you by the Geospatial Track, the Incident Analyzer Smart M.App, allows users to analyse incidents and target priority areas to efficiently concentrate response and resource efforts. Don’t miss this ’hot spot’!

  1. Utilities Companies Managing their Networks in Real-Time

Utilities companies need to know (and share) where – as in the location –their facility networks are and how the networks are doing with respect to connectivity and potential outages.  These days, this information needs to be in real-time and on the go. That’s exactly what Intergraph Networks does. As part of the Safety & Infrastructure Track, learn more about this technology’s flexible software suite that provides utilities companies with secure, real-time access to data. Get connected and check it out!

Honestly, it was a challenge for me to spotlight only five technologies as there are MANY more. I could go on and on about HxGN LIVE, The Zone technology expo, and all the technologies, but I won’t spoil it for you.

Make sure you download the HxGN LIVE Mobile App and check out the “Featured Technology” section for more information on the latest innovations! If you aren’t attending HxGN LIVE this year, see what you are missing by watching our live stream on HxGN TV and Periscope.

Experiencing technology in action that sparks ideas and inspires innovations in one’s own organisation – now that’s shaping smart change!
