Hello HxGN LIVE fans, Jeff Smeraldo here sharing my thoughts on my first ever HxGN LIVE experience. My first experience with the conference starts with the email blast bringing you a ton of useful information. The online registration was easy but one of my favorite things so far is the Conference App, I downloaded it to my phone and I have been tracking the build-up and checking out the events. This gives you a great leg up in figuring out your experience while you travel to Las Vegas. I really like the social media connection with other conference goers, this is a great way to connect with colleagues old and new.
This is also my first time in the great City of Las Vegas and the host site at the Venetian is just spectacular. It really lives up to the Las Vegas glamour I had always heard about.
Walking into registration to get my badges and conference swag was a breeze. I attended the keynote address by Ola Rollén that was reminiscent of a Ted Talk. The address was brilliantly delivered and really set the tone of the conference. When you come to HxGN LIVE, make sure you attend the keynote addresses – you will not be disappointed.
The Zone is a great place to connect with new colleagues or catch up with old ones and to take a look at all of the new technologies available to grow your business.
I like the fact the sessions are often delivered by colleagues that actually experienced implementing the technology that you may be considering. Having that insight is invaluable. Sessions being 45 minutes to 1 hour and a half are a great length, this allows you to pursue many of your interests.
I have been a Leica Geosystems user for over 20 years, and I learned things about both our current gear and new gear that will help my team make their work easier and more efficient and I learned new ways to get the most out of our investment.
I think the best thing I can say is that I gained inspiration for new technologies and how to apply them to my own business and I gained insight in how to implement those technologies.
All in all, this has been a great experience and I would recommend checking it out to anyone interested in Hexagon/Leica Geosystems products. This show has something for new users and longtime users like me, and it is an event that should not be missed.
