It’s now officially one of my favorite times of the year – HxGN LIVE. There’s no other time and place where you’ll get to see Hexagon’s full range of product offerings and innovative thinking in action. This year marks my fourth conference, and honestly, the technology we have to highlight this year is our most impressive showing yet!
Most people will tell you their favorite parts of HxGN LIVE are the networking and educational sessions, but my favorite reason to attend will always be for the first look at all the cool tech. I’m excited, so here is a sneak peek from me to you at some of the amazing devices and applications that will be on display in The Zone during this year’s conference in Las Vegas.
Reality Capture in the Palm of your Hands
I’ve already had the opportunity to see the award-winning Leica BLK360 earlier this year, but even still, I can’t wait for the opportunity to explore it a little more. This is a truly revolutionary piece of tech that brings high-powered 3D imaging and laser scanning into the hands with the press of a single button. With that press, the BLK360 captures the world around you with full-color panoramic images overlaid on a high-accuracy point cloud.
Experience Collaboration in Action
This year I’m looking forward to listening to Hexagon PPM’s new president Matthias Stenberg. But I’m even more excited to preview PPM’s new information management platform – Intergraph Smart Digital Asset’s Collaboration (SDA) Module. This is the next step in the evolution of information management and will simplify the user experience, streamline their products, and provide a common core platform. The Collaboration module is the first module of several modules to be released. The future is bright!
A Customized Geospatial App Store
M.App Enterprise is an on-premises platform for creating your own privately hosted geospatial Smart M. Apps for your organization. I like to think of it as having your own app store for your business. Not only can you use Hexagon’s platform to specify and build Smart M.Apps for your organization , but you can also host and access them anywhere through the cloud. Imagine an entire innovative ecosystem of self-contained solutions that you build and control. That’s definitely a smart change.
Keeping a Mine’s Most Important Assets Safe
We hear a lot about autonomous cars these days, but imagine the autonomous mines of the future! Hexagon Mining is launching their Vehicle Intervention System (VIS) technology which would help make that a reality. The technology provides an added layer of safety to their amazing Collision Avoidance System. This type of technology is already found in cars today, where it stops the vehicle if it senses an oncoming collision, but Hexagon’s version is specific for mining haul trucks.
Preparations to Make Citizens Safe
In recent years, it’s become clear that sporting events, performances and public gatherings of every sort can now potentially attract the most dangerous elements of society. That’s why our emergency services need to plan ahead and execute their operations as quickly and efficiently as possible wherever disaster may strike. Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure understands this, and that’s why they’re proud to display the new Intergraph Planning & Response, which streamlines the coordination and allocation of emergency relief resources.
Putting Great Ideas to Work
In August 2016, Hexagon acquired Apodius GmbH, a company that focused on measuring solutions for fiber composite components. See how Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has put that technology to use with the implementation of the Composite Inspection System , designed to fit into Hexagon’s ROMER Absolute Arm. The new Composite Inspection System for the ROMER Absolute Arm has unmatched defect detection and full-part digitization for carbon fiber components – all in a conveniently portable, hand-guided system.
Remember, this is just a sample. For the whole experience, you’ll need to wait just a little longer. HxGN LIVE kicks off 13 June. If you see me, come say hi! I’d love to show you more of the tech we have to display.
